Parkland at West Oaks

I lived at this apartment for more than a year. OVERPRICED, GREEDY, RUDE MANAGEMENT, and who wants carpet in their living-room when your paying 1200 for a 1bed not far from the ghetto. I could not wait until I moved so I could comment on how rude the management is. When I first started living here my brother worked for the property and they gave us a unit right by the front office. They would watch our door, and send us emails regularly about small things they saw us do like trash and threaten to charge us extra. When the ppl in the back had trash all over the place. I moved units once my brother left, but their attitudes only got worse. They even charged me for both units while I moved from one building to the next. Both units for the full 4 days it took to move. Like I can live in 2 apartments at once??? This was also never explained all the charges are always a surprise. As they hire new people the new people then start to act as stuck up as the previous employees. They treat you as if this isn’t your house where you pay the bills and their paychecks. I just moved out I should only owe them for the 7 days extended to move my things out but some how they found a way to charge me $1000 almost one month rent in fees for not cleaning the stove and washing machine as well as leaving furniture AT THE DUMPSTER! These ppl will try to charge you for air if they could. I wouldn’t stay here again overpriced!

Great Community to live! Huge rooms and large windows are wonderful!! The maintenance guys are awesome and pleasant. The grounds are kept immaculate year round! The management is awesome I had my apartment before I even arrived to Texas and they really work with you and respect your lifestyle. Absolutely zero problems with crime in the complex or the community. If you are moving from out of state this complex will be a great welcome to Texas!!

At first I liked living in this place but now I am at wits end. I feel horrible because I just recently signed a new lease because I didn't have time to find a new place and couldn't afford to pay the month to month price of $1905. The roaches have gotten so bad that it is ridiculous. They are taking over. I didn't notice hardly any at first but I saw many SIGNS of them upon moving in. I guess they were laying low at first but now are full blown. Every day there are new rules here regarding what we can have on our porch. There is no patio or balcony and now we cannot even own a BBQ pit. WTH! How can you tell someone they can't have a BBQ pit? It's super inconvenient. Also, water has skyrocketed, paying $200 in water alone. This place was nice when I moved in or maybe I just thought so because I was desperate to move. But I definitely can't wait until this year flies by to move, definitely not renewing again.

Couple of months ago we were visiting friends at this property it was late at night. To our surprise our car was towed. We didn't mind the tow but the process we had to go through was terrible and we blame the management of Parkland at West Oaks. When we called the towing service they go by the name of Ideal Lease according to the signs posted on property. They misguided us by sending us to the wrong storage lot. Just imagine extremely late at night and you can't find out where your vehicle is in the city. We had to call Ideal Lease again from the wrong storage lot to find out that the car is at another storage lot. We finally got there paid the penalty and got our vehicle back. If the management company does a better job in administrating the visitor parking lot this situation would have been avoided. How is it possible on a late Sunday night the visitor parking lot is full and according to some residents the visitor parking lot is always full; no matter the day or time. It seems like the management does not know if there are sub lease schemes or other people parking on visitor side. Since the visitor parking was full we had no choice but to park in a non-visitor spot. We will never recommend this place to anyone.
